Media Ranch is distinguished by its dual mission as a creator and distributor of original and existing formats. In addition, Media Ranch owns a formatting agency that distributes local and international content and has represented media giant Endemol Shine Group as exclusive agent for the French-Canadian market. During this 9-year collaboration, many prime time television programs have reached millions of viewers.
Media Ranch also acts as a consultant to Canadian and international producers in the development of their own format marketing strategies, as well as to financial institutions and key industry stakeholders.
As a production company, Media Ranch specializes in factual, reality, docu-reality and lifestyle programming. Media Ranch has produced evocative and highly entertaining programming. One of its original series, PARCOMÈTRE BLUES, was awarded the “Best Reality & Factual Entertainment” prize in 2015 at the 54th edition of the Rose D’Or Awards, which recognizes international excellence in television and radio production.
Media Ranch is now the TV format catalogue of the leading Danish broadcaster DR. Under the agreement, Media Ranch will represent all DR formats internationally and create a special “DR collection” for its own format catalogue, which will quadruple the entire Media Ranch format catalogue.

President – Executive Producer
Sophie Ferron has proven herself in all areas of film and television: production, broadcasting, distribution and international business development. With over 30 years of experience, Sophie is well aware of emerging trends and opportunities in the international media market.
Before creating Media Ranch in 2008, Sophie held senior management positions with companies such as Astral Media, Technicolor and TQS. Sophie is a versatile person, bringing both her business acumen and creative flair to all areas of Media Ranch’s business.
Internationally, Sophie is a business and government affairs consultant on the Canadian media landscape. She is often invited to speak to expert groups at industry events and conferences. Over the years, Sophie has served on the Board of Directors of SODEC, Quebec’s public funding agency for film and television, was a member of the French Advisory Board of the Banff World Media Festival and President of the Association des studios d’enregistrement du Québec, where she negotiated the collective agreement with the Union des artistes, the actors’ guild.

Senior Vice President
With over 15 years of experience in the international media industry focused on content distribution, exploitation and brand programming, Tanja joined Media Ranch as Vice President.
Previously, she was Director of Formats and Brand at Endemol Shine Group and, previously, Senior Director of Format Distribution at Endemol International, a position she had held since joining the company in 2008. Head of Media Ranch’s European offices, Tanja is based in Amsterdam and focuses on selling and acquiring formats that reach a global audience.
Head of Content and Storytelling
With a career spanning two decades in the key areas of film, television and digital media, Philip specializes in scriptwriting and production. He is a producer nominated for the Canadian Screen Award in the critically acclaimed viral series “YidLife Crisis”. Philip adapted the script and produced the award-winning feature film “Game of Death” (world premiere SXSW 2017; licensed Blackpills); he was associate producer on “Lady Psycho Killer”, with Malcolm McDowell and Michael Madsen.
He has extensive experience in both linear web series and complex interactive projects. He co-developed and produced online the first large-scale interactive ARG in Quebec, “The Judas” for Couzin Films and Kngfu (licensed by Radio-Canada). He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with distinction from the Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema at Concordia University, specializing in film production.
Alexa Jorizzo was born to be a development ninja and is the third generation in her family to embark on a successful television career. Her first position at Media Ranch was as casting director for the successful show “True Sex Confessions”. She was a researcher on “The Expert” before becoming a full-time administrative assistant to CEO Sophie Ferron.
Alexa has recently been promoted and is working with the development team to search for new content at Media Ranch. She obtained a Bachelor of Administration degree from the École des sciences et de la gestion de Montréal (Québec) and worked tirelessly for many years as a counsellor at the prestigious Camp Papillon for Disabled Children. She took her love of children and applied it to the television industry, starting with the role of babysitter in the successful show “Parent Double Agent”. Alexa’s passion is to accompany people, whether in person or through big TV and we can always find roots for the oppressed.
Executive Assistant to the President
Rafael Provost is executive assistant to Sophie Ferron, president and CEO of Media Ranch. Rafael joins the team after six years of experience as a coordinator and executive assistant in various industries including event management, communications and administration. Passionate about media, culture and human relations, Rafael is an efficient, intuitive and always-positive troubleshooter. He is thrilled to be working in television.
