Canadian producer-distributor Media Ranch and US counterpart GRB Studios have forged a partnership to help expand each other’s global footprints.

Under the pact, Media Ranch and GRB will link up on unscripted IP, new and existing formats and ready-made factual series for the international market, but will continue to work independently of each other.

In the factual space, the companies will develop original unscripted IP with GRB Studios producing commissioned projects for the US market and Media Ranch producing for Canada.

Montreal-based Media Ranch will distribute all coproduced programming and formats from the companies’ catalogues in mainland Europe, while GRB will manage sales for the US, UK and rest of the world. Additionally, the LA-based outfit will oversee global distribution for both companies’ ready-made catalogues.

Media Ranch president Sophie Ferron said the “symbiotic new alliance” would provide “both companies with a fantastic opportunity to create and grow – both together and independently.”

Patrice Choghi, senior VP of international for GRB Studios, added that the alliance has provided the prodco with a “unique and effective way to scale globally.”
