(31th October 2017 – Montreal) Media Ranch, the award-winning Canadian TV production and distribution company today announces a range of international agreements for ready-made content and programme formats following this year’s MIPCOM.

Firstly, SPI International has acquired Media Ranch’s original 13 x 30’ series production ‘True Sex Confessions’ for broadcast in Poland.

‘True Sex Confessions’ originally ran as a 13 x 30’ series by the Canadian French language lifestyle and entertainment channel MOI & Cie as ‘Vraies Histoires de Sexe’.

The second deal signed at MIPCOM by Media Ranch was with Banijay Group who acquired the format rights to remake classic 90’s Canadian blind dating show ‘Thunderstruck’ in Australia, France, Denmark and Italy.

Known in French Canada as ‘Coup de Foudre’, ‘Thunderstruck’ is currently being remade for V Media Group’s Vtélé in Quebec. The channel ordered 60 x 30’ episodes of the show that René Ferron of Ferron International originally conceived.

Finally, EndemolShine France has acquired the rights to remake ‘Legal House Call’ in France.

Originally created by Dutch producer Vincent TV Producties, ‘Legal House Call’ is a spin off show from long running Dutch TV format ‘Verdict On Demand’ which features a legal expert making house visits to desperate people struggling with various legal issues they can’t resolve themselves.

The company announced earlier this month that the rights to remake ‘Legal House Call’ in Germany has been optioned by Tresor TV Produktions, the Munich-based independent production company owned by Keshet International.

Media Ranch also announced last week it has acquired the assets of producer Salvail & Co. in partnership with Vivianne Morin, a leading professional in Quebec’s television industry and Salvail & Co.’s former General Manager.

“There was a lot of interest around our finished programmes and formats at MIPCOM 2017 and naturally we’re delighted that this has progressed to several concrete deals” said Media Ranch President Sophie Ferron.
